Hello, I don't even know your name, but I'm hopin' all the same

This is more than just a simple hello.

Hello, do I smile and look away? No, I think I'll smile and stay

To see where this might go.

'Cause the last time I felt like this, I was falling in love,

Falling and feeling, I'd never fall in love again.

Yes, the last time I felt like this, was long before I knew

What I'm feeling now with you.

Hello, I can't wait till we're alone, somewhere quiet on our own

So that we can fall the rest of the way.

I know that before the night is thru, I'll be talking love to you,

Meaning every word I say.

'Cause the last time I felt like this I was falling in love,

Falling and feeling, I'd never fall in love again.

Yes, the last time I felt like this, was long before I knew

What I'm feeling now with you.

Sung by Johnny Mathis & Jane Olivor

Words by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman

This song brings me back to such great memories in the 1980s and how much I fell in love with Janes amazing voice. This duet is sheer perfection.

This was our theme song, because we met time and time again. But, sadly we had to part ways, and choose to love somebody else. I'm happy for him. He remains a special part of me. :D

Imagine the thrill of discovering this song purely by accident or hearing a friend rave about it .... and finding that it fits perfectly into your life or the life of someone else who is falling in love for the first time. It's a Mathis classic.

This movie has one of the most heart breaking scenes ever put to film. It's when Doris (Ellen Burstyn) learns George's (Alan Alda) son has died. They're in the middle of a fight and then it just...turns. Simply wonderful. Great song. Love love this movie.
