I did this in open E (EBEG#BE). I can't really hear the chords during the middle 8 parts, so I played something I thought sounded close.

It sounds good using open E, but the acoustic guitar on the studio version is tuned to standard tuning. You should seek out the Satanic Sessions bootleg box sets as there are various ongoing takes on that one in which you can hear the guitar really clearly. Interestingly Brian is on acoustic, Keith on clean electric guitar for the first 5 takes, but Brian moves on to organ, Keith to acoustic.

Wow,the chords & everything in this song is similar to Child Of the Moon except that is in DADFAD..didn't realize just how many of these old Stones songs have open tuning, never listened to this song that much - great job on this btw

I asked a little while back for this and you've done a great job -as always. Coincidently, I walked past Redlands yesterday and wondered if it was written there in 67 (I'm not a snooper - my parents live close by). Any chance you might tackle those fast interlinking lead bits along with the run downs?
