The song is about Mick Jagger who Ray was around in London. "Your followers kiss your hand" is sung in Jagger imitation. Both Ray and Jagger players gigs around London before becoming famous. John was already famous and was from Liverpool.

Awesome Track ... The only other song I can think of that comes remotely close is "Death On Two Legs" By Queen. Whoever this song was written about, he Pissed Ray Davies Off ROYALLY, and Ray pays him back in SPADES! Dave's Guitar work is simply astonishing.
