I first heard this song on a mix tape that my uncle used to play all the time in his car back in 1983. At the time that this song came out, The Kinks had another song out that was getting a lot of air play on MTV called "Come Dancing" so I knew what the title of the LP was that this song was on; "State of Confusion," which at that time back in '83, I felt like my life was in. Primary because I had just been forced to switch schools, and lost contact with someone that I really loved and cared about. So whilst walking home through the woods from school everyday back then, I made a point of playing this song on my Walkman to remind myself of what I had to do get my basic skills up to par, which I succeeded at, but ended up graduating a year late.
