Thanks for the info. In the meantime I found and saw it on Youtube, so that was great. If I had time, I would look up a lot of other documentaries on rock music shown on British and American TV which of course we can't get over here.

Dave and Ray are hot, their music rocks, with great lyrics. There must be good bands today too, I just don't know them

Hey, that's that Ray Whatshisname percussionist who used to play with Elton!

For the 'orchestrated' Kinks of the 70s, not bad at all! Now if I could find clips of them doing 'Arthur' material live in '69-'70, just the four or five of them...

Does anyone know how I can get hold of a copy of the documentary "Kinkdome Come" by Julien Temple in 2007. They showed it in a festival of music documentaries in Santiago, but I only learned about it when it was practically over and the remaining tickets for the other films were sold out. I may be one of the few people in Santiago who knows who the Kinks were and would have loved to have seen the film. Would be grateful for any tip!

Truly under appreciated. I saw them in concert in 1978 and 1980. The concert in 1978 was at a small venue in a small town in Germany, and is to this day is the best concert I have ever seen. No elaborate light show or stage. Just incredile energy and a long set of wonderful songs. These guys were real proffesionals.

so simple a set up , no gizmo's no bits of rubbish...they were already sidelined by glam and their music was disregarded as passe..BUt they were and still are incredible ,brilliant, creative and unique. Wonderful.

@boscoruby: Ray Cooper is a percussionist. While he has played along side many great musicians (as has already been mentioned), he first gained fame as a member of Elton John's band back in the 70's. The members of that legendary band were Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, and Ray.

I've seen this guy Ray Cooper (I didn't know his name until I read yuour post) several times, and all he ever does is play the tambourine. Who the hell is he?

At 2.35, isn't that the theme tune of Hancock's Half Hour either Ray or Dave are playing?

Eric Iozzi

Yes, he played with George Harrison, and Elton John, and Eric Clapton, and the Stones...and many others. His name is Ray Cooper.
