One of my personal favorite Killing Tree songs off "Hair: Chicago punk cuts"

On the eve of our exile we carve names in the oaks

To remember our last days of life on the ropes

In broad daylight we crawl through the trenches

To meet our fate of our razor wire fences

As we crash through the floor

Taking but always wanting more

My lips are wet and dry and as the night, cold as ice

As the ground beneath me fails we all take flight

Hold Us captive but we never die, never die

Fix these broken dreams and leave this place alive

I will come to you in madness and impossibility

I will come to you forever knowing you will come to me

I will come to you as life's fears kick the ground beneath my feet

I will come to you forever knowing you will come to me

So much I don't know, I don't know, I don't know

As we crash through the floor

Taking but always wanting more

My lips are getting dry and as the night, cold as ice

As the ground beneath me fails we all take flight

Hold Us captive but we never die, never die

Fix these broken dreams and leave this place alive

[As we crash]

It's always blurry

Words that I can't hear

Steal my breath again

Then she disappears

This is what I am

A fogged symmetry

Begging to be put

Out of my misery

I wait for the sky

Filled with broken dreams

To open up and swallow me

I will leave this place alive

I will leave this place alive

I will leave this place alive

I will leave this place alive

My lips are getting dry and as the night, cold as ice

As the ground beneath me fails we all take flight

Hold Us captive but we never die, never die

Fix these broken dreams and leave this place

I will leave this place

I will leave this place

I will leave this place alive

Anyone have sugestions for bands in this style? I even like more this heavy approach than Rise Against

0:50 sounds like drones and re-education

Jamako Is Bäck

This 'never die, never die' reminds me of Drones. Influenced Rise Against a lot

Awww, I just love this song :3 But I still can't understand the meaning (english isn't my mother tongue). Can someone help me?

The vocalist is Emily Jancetic (nee Schambra) who sang for Holy Roman Empire with Geoff Reu.

Jesus can walk on water, and Tim can sing through chaos.

I have no idea what he's talking about either, but I do feel like RA has lost its aggressiveness since 'Sufferer' (of course with a few exceptions among more recent tracks). Maybe 'aggressiveness' isn't the best word to convey my point, but I think you get what I mean.

Not positive, but in The Killing Tree's wiki it says something about a female roommate who did backing vocals -who I assume to be- Laura Cahill. She's got such a beautiful voice, though

What have they released since endgame? A couple singles that were awesome?

Greg Hufton

This is great, also rise against is still a good band but since endgame they lost their edge

Tim looks so young and adorable in that picture, that you wouldn't even say that this pretty face can scream so amazing :P

The part of Tim starting around 00:40 reminds me of Drones of Rise Against :p

New rise against is better than this. but both are amazing.

Who is singing backup on the chorus?

I think the guy who made the original comment is a bit of a tool, and I really like The Killing Tree, but Rise Against is just as good now as they ever were IMO.

My friend told me if you don't like TKT, you don't like the real Tim from Rise Agsinst

i have the unraveling. they're like melodic hardcore punk from what i can tell and what they told. btw i'm not the same guy u replied to. killign tree is just more on punk rather than metalcore. just cause metalcore is more prominent nowadays doesn't mean we should classify these acts as metalcore just cause it sounds "like" it. which it doesn't btw
