Stairway To Heaven - Tribute To Led Zeppelin The most famous rock song of all time, "Stairway" fit into what was called the "Album Oriented Rock" (AOR) format, and later became a staple of Classic Rock. It has sold more sheet music than any other rock song. The song is about a woman who accumulates money, only to find out the hard way her life had no meaning and will not get her into heaven. Robert Plant, who wrote the lyrics, explained. Jimmy Page considers this a masterpiece, but Robert Plant does not share his fondness for the song. After the band broke up, Plant refused to sing it. This was the last song the remaining members of Led Zeppelin performed when they reunited for Live Aid in 1985. At the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in December 2012, Ann and Nancy Wilson came on stage for the finale, an inspiring “bring down the house” version of “Stairway to Heaven”, joined by late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s son, Jason, on drums. UltimateClassicRock.com said of the moment: As anyone who’s seen their frequent live performances of ‘Rock and Roll‘ or ‘The Battle of Evermore‘ can tell you, the Wilson sisters know how to play Led Zeppelin live. From the moment they began, all eyes and ears were focused on Ann Wilson, and she knocked this one out of the park, leaving John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and a clearly misty Plant with big smiles on their faces as they watched from the balcony.”

Very few people(men or women) from this era that do the same type of music as heart, have a vocalist that has held up this well for this long. I mean her voice is almost the same as it was in the late 70's. Absolutely incredible. In my opinion a very underrated singer and band.

One of the most beautiful renditions of this song ever.
