Together with Good Ship Kangaroo my fav Planxty song, I prefer those lighthearted songs to the tearjerkers and bleeding heart ditties.I always thought beggars can't be choosers, but see, in Ireland, things are different... And I first thought he decapitated her, but since she still speaks afterward....She lost her maidenheadand now she's quite undone :0) Well.... :0)Come to think of it, she lets that tramp in, not because she has a good catholic heart, but because he's good looking, tss tsss tsss... That undercover king sounds like my oldest dwarf hamster, the local patriarch of the cage, who also left quite a number of maidens undone :) He probably never heard of the non proliferation treaty... :((

First heard these fellows and this song in 1986 driving up the Adirondack Northway in a blizzard. It was on aVermont Public Radio station and kept fading in and out but I loved it. Heard Planxty's name at the end and have been listening ever since!

If this were a bowl of soup, it would be a good bowl of soup.

Cannot count the amount of times I've watched this video and all of the others from the Abbey Tavern, but this is the first time I've noticed Donal Lunny's earrings!
