MERCH - http://riserecords.merchnow.com/catalogs/The-Jealous-Sound

Burst, and I'm awake

Now not straight from these woods we had known

And in the dark they gathered there

With ropes woven from strands of your hair

And like these kings that came before

I fell asleep on this strange forest floor

And they would spirit you away

And in the dances you gave up your throne

You're breaking your back to be alone

Refusing this kindness you were shown

It doesn't mean anything anyway

It doesn't mean

Beneath this canopy of trees

I wrap my arms around my knees

And rocking gently back to sleep

As I collapse into the deep

With these words that we exchange

This isn't finished

I couldn't bare to let you go

I couldn't bare to let you go

Exhausted and estranged

Testing your limits

This isn't fair, I didn't know

I couldn't bare to let you go

And it's a risk, but I resist

Now it's my wish that you will [?] somehow

And you have everything you need

With this compass and map you ignore

You can't make yourself believe

Discontent but you still wanted more

And at the swollen riverbank

You tried to cross

But you sank like a stone

You're breaking your back to be alone

Refusing this kindness you were shown

It doesn't mean anything anyway

It doesn't mean

Beneath this canopy of trees

I wrap my arms around my knees

And rocking gently back to sleep

As I collapse into the deep

With these words that we exchange

This isn't finished

I couldn't bare to let you go

I couldn't bare to let you go

Exhausted and estranged

Testing your limits

This isn't fair, I didn't know

I couldn't bare to let you go

And from the moment you arrived

You had seemed so frustrated

You had tried to leave this all behind to me,

And like a fool you had traded

They motion you inside to sleep,

From such a steep and narrow climb

These arrows at your feet were signs

And I could feel you frustrated

With these words that we exchange

This isn't finished

I couldn't bare to let you go

I couldn't bare to let you go

Exhausted and estranged

Testing your limits

This isn't fair, I didn't know

I couldn't bare to let you go

A burst, and I'm awake now

And now straight from these woods

We had known.

Holy crap! How did I not know that the lead singer of Knapsack had another band?! These guys are pretty great, too! A little more mellow, but very cool! #MusicBomb

Check out PMtoday and see if they float your boat, man. I think their album In Media Res is the greatest album Rise Records has ever put out. I'd call it progressive indie/post-hardcore if I had to give it a name, but I'd rather just call the album flawless.

Regarding the question mark in the lyrics, it's "Now it's my wish that you will it somehow."

My God I miss Knapsack so much. This band does ease the pain a lot though.

Because Rise Records tends to sign bands that can be grouped together and are similar, they're a pathetic music label? You're saying that marketing to a certain group or clique is bad? You better tell that news to every successful business in the world, genius.

Alright I respect your opinion and your right to say it, but RiseRecords is not made up of only"scene kid metalcore". I also don't like you calling RiseRecords a "pathetic, terrible music label". RiseRecords is a very diverse label with many different types of music genres, and pretty much anyone can find something they like from RiseRecords. Again, I respect your opinion, and just like you did, I am expressing mine.

I luv this song. P.S. the lead singer looks like michael berryman from the original "the hills have eyes" movie.
