I'd rather have a fun and interesting life than devote it to some fairtale character, who's best party piece was changing water to wine.

@somonelse666 But does "apparently" like Eton Rifles. Crap. If David Cameron says no, all the more reason to say yes. If David Cameron says yes, time to leave the country

The biggest Punk bands between 77 - 79 in UK would be Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Jam, The Buzzcocks and The Stranglers. When the Jam released this album they seemed to sit under the New Wave tag. By the time of the All Mod Cons album, although the Jam may have dressed like Mods (and revived the trend) they were still considered to be New Wave. On or around the time they released the Eaton Rifles single they were adopted by the Mod movement which gave them a steady stream of chart singles.

er, aldemps73, the Jam most def Punk. Just so happened the lead singer was a mod, mighty impressed by seeing the sex pistols and the clash!

Stand up for standards? Not hard hitting lyrics and probably a "stocking filler". But good never the less.

Just to add, the riff does remind me of I Can't Explain. Bril tune though.
