Interesting question. They were followed mainly by Mods. Take away the Mod part, then it is hardcore music bordering on punk. But Mods will claim it as Mod. I know a punk who used to watch them but cos he was small and disabled they wouldnt let him into see The Pistols, he used to get into see the The Jam instead.
