This version only charted in Britain it seems, which is a shame since it is such a nice cover. Michael provides his usual adorable lead here. This proved the Five were not just a soul and pop group. They could do rock also.

I first heard this version in 1972, before I even knew that Jackson Brown existed...what a pleb...but I was only 10 years old. It wasnt until got into the Eagles in 1976 that i realised that jackson Brown had wrote this song. He must have been happy for a such a fantastic group as the Jackson 5 to record his song. wonderful story.
