We spend our lives regretting what we have never obtained, but the emptiest void will be the love you never gave. Another soon to be ditch of undug treasure, buried by another shovel waiting in line. We kill ourselves seeking pleasure, lying just to show some truth and fooling ourselves thinking we are foolproof. Our smiles couldn't be any softer yet our tears are etched in stone. Honoring independence; fearful of being alone. Everyday we watch the world unravel. Our vision is precise, accounting for every string torn beyond our own hands. We whirl, wrapping ourselves up one way, and blindly unwinding the other. Comets just sailing along, ignorant of their own tails; a beauty born of gradual destruction. Failed fragments trailing off into the sky, never to return and made beautiful by revealing light. It will crumble until nothing is left, or crash another's sky, it's only beautiful because it is dying, because it is free and the light is shining. Time is chiseled by our own eyes and memories always have two sides. Joy and pain; the light and lack there of, both can trap or release, haunt or bring peace. Another high needing a low to rise; another beauty once had soon to be despised.
