I have to agree with Troy here, yes Digital Veil had better music and I still love the album. However, that album was without a doubt traditional deathcore. I love deathcore myself, but that isn't what I listen to this band for though. i love this band because they put so much of themselves into their music and digital veil just didn't seem that way to me. Not nearly like Midheaven was. Just go listen to that album again the emotion prevalent in each song is astounding

Digital Veil, deathcore? What´s up now? Rihanna does blues? Midheaven = boring and sleepy, and slow. All the technique and the funny riffs of Nocturne were lost with that shitty album. Nathan voice wasn´t too good. Digital Veil = More funny and intresting. New riffs, AJ solos return, Travis joins to the band (and kicks Nathan´s ass with his growls). I found Midheaven was pretty good, just hard to compare because it has such a different writing style, though I would say I like Nocturne better for power and how the guitars play as one while Midheaven they are more so used as separate entities(lead and rhythm). This has very strong undertones of conservative musical style in modern music, like the harmony work for the guitars that come off as a section rather than 2 instruments that both happen to be guitar. It's all good though

Digital Veil was a great album in its own right, but Troy makes an excellent point. Digital Veil is typical deathcore, and truly lacks the substance that made Nocturne such a wonderful album. It was unfortunate the midheaven didn't have AJ writing for it, otherwise I truly believe it would have been a far greater album than Digital Veil.

Yeah I did, and I'm sorry? Did I just get called an idiot for having an opinion? His cleans sucked, his screams sucked, his overall approach to being a unique vocalist sucked. I saw them 3 times live, twice with Nathan, and once with Travis. Nathan had waaaaaay better stage presence and energy, while Travis went for the "Death Metal" approach.
