An O.K. remake of the original #14 Pop chart hit of Frankie Ford from 1959. The best re-make of all was the Johnny Rivers recording of 1971. Very true to the spirit of the Frankie Ford hit. This solid solid rock'n' roll hit was written by the great Huey Smith.

A great job on the 1959 Frankie Ford classic. Herman's Hermits also covered "Sea Cruise" as the flip side of their 1965 "Just A Little Bit Better" single. The Hondells features amongst their ranks Chuck Girard, formerly of the Castells. He went on to front Love Song and has made impressive inroads since then with a series of great solo Gospel albums.

Actually, if you look carefully, you'll see that the drummer is holding drumsticks. He's using the standard jazz grip with his left. You can just make out the end in his left hand over the snare but the cymbal completely hides his right hand and stick. On the other hand, with those gyrating go-go dancers, maybe he's using another stick altogether.

That's Classic! I also love the guy "playing" the drums at 2:20. Looks like they forgot the drumsticks for the shoot! The Go-Go dancers make up for it!! 5 stars!
