The Highwaymen perform "Highwayman" live at the Farm Aid concert in Irving, Texas on March 14, 1992. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help — what can you do?

Well, the singers did a good job but the sound engineer was asleep for this one.

It's actually the perfect opening song because you get to do a mix check on each of the performers!!! And Jimmy Webb himself is playing piano and singing one of his verses…..this is too cool!!!

Johnny Cash and John Schneider recorded this song as well, but I never saw a DVD or it, just a CD recording. Lots more fun too because they were both joking around and having a good time.

There used to be a much better quality live version of this song on YouTube. Anyone know where it went? Any help would be appreciated.
