This is my first time listening to Rise Against, but I think I'm already obsessed. One of my friends on Kik is obsessed too, and now I'm gonna be yelling Rise Against all day. I'm going to yell "Rise Against!" when my bullies come to bully me. They listen to Demi Lovato and stuff, so they'll be confused xD. And now I think you guys deserve to know my whole story. My name is Laela Jackson. I'm 12 years old and in 8th grade. But it was when I was in 5th grade that the bullying started. It was because of how short I was (4'6'') . People always said, "Omg look how short she is." and "She's so ugly, even Medusa wouldn't take her in." If you know about Greek mythology, then you know what I'm talking about. They always avoided me. My bullies picked on me daily. They sneered at me, "Hey short shit, why don't you kill yourself?! Nobody likes you anyway!" I could deal wıth that. But then it got so serious that I took a knife and cut myself. I always was the victim of bullying. One of my friends bullied me just so he could fit in. Then last year me getting bullied ended forever. You thought I was going to say that I died, didn't you? Well I wasn't going to kill myself. The principal of my school actually witnessed the bullying one day. He expelled the bullies. I know on this video wasn't a good place to post this, but I didn't exactly finish. The bullying started up agaın. Long story short, I ended up cutting myself agaın. I am still waiting for the right guy to come along and save me from my own personal hellhole. My own savior is coming soon, hopefully. Please give a thumbs up on this comment, ıf your life is somewhat like mıne.

For me, this song is about finding something precious and being afraid to lose it. The flower being something precious that you don't want to lose or hurt The ocean (drowning in it) or storm, or lack of sleep is a metaphor for guilt and remorse. He loves something but doesn't want to keep hurting it, he wants whats best for it but also doesn't want to lose it.
