They couldn't use his vocals, because the Cure's Management stopped it from coming out. They scrambled and released it with Steve Sevrin's Girlfriend singing. All the songs were written for Robert Smith to sing, but once he got blocked, they did the re-mastering with the actual singer.

They went to all the trouble to record new vocals for theses songs, why didn't they bother doing the music also?

@olitlaloc — maybe you're right. not hard to believe — there's a remarkable difference in his voice between the two versions of "Mr Alphabet Says" available, too. but, we know, Sir Robert is a prefectionist. and I'm not misspelling.

Am I the only one who noticed that this isn't robert Smith from 1983? He did'nt sing like that back then, had a slightly lower voice, different feel. This sounds more like the post 2000 Robert...the musical demos may be original, but the voice is NOT.

@worldtourmaster Agree. I love this song, there's something so incredibly sad about it.

Wow- a new song (for me) that sounds like it's taken before the "Friday I'm in Love" era of the cure.

@Durandal1717 I Agree! This was an instant fav of mine since I first heard it. Nice to Hear Robert's voice on this but I think I prefer the original overall.
