The singer sounds SO MUCH like Blair Shehan from Knapsack and The Jealous Sound.

I can't believe it has been 15 years since I first heard this album. 11th grade. Weird.

Amen to this. High school was still just as shitty then as it is now or whatever. My fondest memories of this song? Listening to it on my DISCMAN (oh god), eating my lunch alone in the library. Cool huh?

i actually saw it in a related video to another emo band, and decided to state what i had thought of the album when i listened to it.

This song switches up more than any I've heard. Like 5 songs in one. This and 'better half' are the best. Takes me back to when my kids were in their teens.

Dont romanticize it. Not everyone listened to these bands back in the day. This was never popular music. There was still popular music that was shit, and anyone who listened to the bands you mentioned were "fags".

You are the luckiest motherfucker alive. I would ACTUALLY commit murder, or even RAPE for that matter, to have grown up with bands like TGUK, Mineral, and Cap'n Jazz being "on the scene" so-to-speak, and grown up to remember a time when everybody else listened to good music instead of the awful shit they listen to today. God damnit, I'm drunk.

well, this band came around on the heels of an emo explosion, but by the time they released their first albums that garnered any notorietyu, most other emo bands had broken up. pretty much everything that came after 1997 is "third wave emo", which i really dislike. it's also notable as being the least innovative type of emo. this band isn't terrible, a lot of the bands that they influenced are though. and in the grand scheme of things, they weren't that inventive.
