Good "Mamas and the Papas" sound from this California folk duo (Rick Stanley & Pamela Poland). Produced by Terry Melcher who also produced The Byrds and Paul Revere & the Raiders.

Great sound, great vocals! What became of this duo? Did they release very many records after the late 60's?

Not to forget, a very young guitar whiz named Ry Cooder was the guitarist in this group! :) He had just quit Captain Beefheart...

I'm listening to this again after a couple of weeks and this gem remains amazingamazing amazingamazingamazing!!! To PCino45s2 what can I say, thank so much for this penultimate lost jewel of those 1960's where things like this got passed over by radio. This duo is clearly terrific and whomever wrote this tune has or had mad skills. I can't get enough of that sound! IMO this is easily as good as the Mamas And The Papas.

Pamela Polland of The Gentle Soul recently did an interview and talked at great length about her band. Check it out on A Bit Like You And Me.

THANK YOU! I've been hoping someone would finally post this masterpiece! I've told Pamela that this is THE one from The Gentle Soul that I have to control myself from playing too much, or else I'd play it ALL DAY. Wow, I'm gonna have to search me out a copy of the 45 because the mono mix really sounds POWERFUL (as if the stereo mix on the CD wasn't already powerful and majestic enough).
