This brings back memories of great parties in The Bronx with Irish music playing, wonderful food served up by those who cooked for a living after they left their home in Ireland, drink flowing and family & friends laughing and sharing fun, good talk and good, simple times with good people.Rich memories I'll cherish forever.

Lovely song. Many Irish/American women, however, understated often wear rather chic conservative outfits and these include jewelry such as fine diamonds and Rolex watches. The Irish have prospered in the US; ten years ago sociologist and professor at 2 universities Fr. Andrew Greeley stated that Irish/Americans were the most highly educated and the best paid in the US. We've done well as Irish/Americans and we do remember what we've taken from the Holy Ground.

He sings an excellent version of this song. There are many different versions of it. He had great respect, for old Irish songs.

I think this song is the reason I shun women who wear a lot of jewellery, paint and powder to this day...One for the psychologists out there!

Just beautiful to say the least. My mom came from County Kildare County Cork and often said that in Ireland there are forty sades of Green until it rains and then it is forty shades of mud. She had a sense of humor.
