I like most of the other songs by the Fortunes, but this is too "schmaltzy" compared to the Terry Jacks version which is the one that clicked after he produced the Beach Boys version; that one was also too watered down. Good thing they got together with Coca Cola; this is no You've got your troubles, I've got mine, etc.

Why on earth was this not a bigger hit in 1969?. Terry Jacks cornered the market with his version but this comes a pretty close and excellent second.
