The Fogcutters were from Denver. Their sound was similar to that of The Beau Brummels They never made the national charts, but this record DID get heard by a national audience -- it was used in an episode of THE FUGITIVE TV series. IIRC, it was heard over a transistor radio as some teenage punks harass Dr. Richard Kimble. I can't say for sure why this record was used, presumably because it was released on the Liberty label, which was owned by United Artists -- producers of THE FUGITIVE.

The website http://www.moonrakers.us/bobgroke.htm gives some more info on The Fogcutters: "The Fogcutters recorded for Liberty Records and had one minor hit. They were a bubblegum band in Denver and left for Chicago where they played for six months as the opening act for Howlin' Wolf in a club there. Their sound evolved into the Chicago Blues sound and when they came back to Denver, they had changed for the better. A great sound. They left Liberty Records and started recording for Verve Records but I lost track of them after that."

I used to go over with my jr high friends and watch them rehearse in the basement of a frat house at Denver University. They used to have battle of the bands with a band called the Moonrakers. Eric came and watch my 9th grade band the Watchers at the Grant junior High All School Show. Came back Stage before the show to help us tune up. Good guys.

I grow up in the 60's, play metal in the 80's but now in my heart of hearts its the music of the 50's,60;s, and the power bands of the mid 70's and this I've never heard before. but its so good!!!

In 1966 the Fogcutters became the Fantastic Zoo. My girlfriend was a big fan and the "president of their fan club". I did see several of their shows. I went to school with the drummer, Bill Cosper at South Junior High School. so I knew him from band for years.

Once again, a sample of the vast talent of the garage bands of that era. It's been a real ear candy for me. Even though it's old, it's new to me. I'll be listening to it again and again.
