2:48 to the end sounds like castlevania harmony of dissonance soundtrack.

Very good, guys. Like the whole concept with the visual in the video and the song. This is also my first flower king song and I hope the rest of your music has this quality. Progmetal is in a huge need of more good music as there are so many crappy albums comming out right now.

So this is my first Flower Kings song, though I've been listening to prog for a while. What song/s or album should I start at?

Okay so I arrived at TFK via Transatlantic because I liked RS's guitar and vocal work and this is my first Flower Kings album. Now it didn't jump out and grab me on the first listen but now after 4-5 times through the set I understand its brilliance! There's really not a bad track in the bunch. Tower One opens up nicely and gives the listener a good sample for what to expect. "Last Carnivore" might be my favorite track for its brooding nature but I also really like "Runaway Train". Then the remainder of the album (I think they're all iTunes "bonus" tracks?) is just a bunch of great instrumentals. A special mention for the bass work in this album because it is so melodic and driving at the same time. I find myself humming the baselines as much as the vocals. Lastly the vocal work the leads and backups really work well together creating a very cool sounding blend that is easy to listen to but is also very dynamic and interesting to breakdown. All in all a great album and highly recommended to all modern prog heads!!!

Edit: Oh, great. So YT comments are now G+ posts. :P This isn't exactly the kind of discussion I would have in my stream, especially since the first two posts of the conversation are now elsewhere. Anyway..Well, Dave Morgan (Youtube wouldn't let med reply directly to your comment), if it is a crassly commercial decision rather than an artistic one, I guess that sort of explains why they don't bother too much about geting it right. Still, they're based in a university town; finding someone qualified to proof their lyrics should be fairly easy.

possibly because the Swedish-language market is massively limited compared to the English-language market. By the way - If you're talking about respect, maybe you could show a bit of respect for the efforts they've gone to to write song after song in a second language, all the while displaying some of the most incredible musicianship out there at the minute. I think they deserve a break.

And, yet again, no one who actually knows English bothered to check the lyrics. If they have such lack of respect for the language they sing in, why not just switch to Swedish?

The Flower Kings - the masters of cinematic and melodic symphonic rock are back with their new studio albumSwedish progressive-rock royalty The Flower Kings have had a busy year since regrouping in 2012 for the 'Banks Of Eden' album, and with a new creative vigour the band are following that with the fantastic new album 'Desolation Rose' which is in stores and digital now! The artwork, once again created by Silas Toball, can be viewed above and the band had this to say about the forthcoming release: " Being somewhat of a political statement, the epic theme of "Desolation Rose" is a logical step in a time where perpetual war, famine, environmental threats, religious conflicts dominate the media and our minds. This is a time to wake up and the music on this album takes you on a journey where you are forced to questions what the mainstream media feed us and to rethink your whole world view on all of the above. This is in many ways a typical Flower Kings album but we have also taken it into another realm where we do take chances and where you may struggle to get into the music - or the lyrics - but trust me when I say that you will be rewarded, as this may be our most involved, important and interesting album ever." The track-listing for the album is as follows:1. Tower ONE 13:392. Sleeping Bones 04:163. Desolation Road 04:004. White Tuxedos 06:305. The Resurrected Judas 08:246. Silent Masses 06:177. Last Carnivore 04:228. Dark Fascist Skies 06:059. Blood Of Eden 03:1210. Silent Graveyards 02:52
