FRIDAY NIGHT SESSIONS

*FNS*The Fixx - "Red Skies"*Playing a few random tunes since the studio is dark tonight. I came into WFNS and no one was here, other than the humming of the equipment, so I figured - why not?*#FNS #fridaynightsessions #thefixx *Sean*

The Fixx's timeline is so bizarre. In this video Cy Curnin looks like Kurt Cobain, but in "Secret Separation" from around the same time (?) the whole band looks like Duran Duran. I guess why they didn't become huge is that it seems like they never found a "look". It would have been better if they just pulled a Pink Floyd and never really featured themselves in videos.

Pay attention to the exploding fireworks guitar solo at 1:50! Whew... with solos like that, no wonder the skies are red (and every other visceral color) at night! The bass player is super cool and absolutely perfect, but the guitar solo takes this song into the stratosphere.

I prefer this version...very tight, powerful and to the point.
