Truly wonderful. What rockers take your soul seriously as the Fixx does lyrically in this song? The Fixx were able to combine an edgy, post punk sound (without being too studied about it) and smooth guitar and bass textures and celestial synth accents and overlays, as well as tense and resonating vocal moods that spoke to the listener's intelligence. They were a great counterbalance to the arrogant and stale "classic" rock that was being over-rotated on FM radio.

ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER CREATED....patience in delivery, kind in musical association to lyric and it's beautiful sing-speak advice!

Such pretty fretless bass playing from Dan, and that piano is the icing on the cake.

So bummed they cancelled Denver. Walkabout is my favorite album by them. Wore out the cassette, just found the CD.

I love those first two lines: You're not the first to be lonely..thank God you're not the only....I looked up the lyrics to this song and these are the perfect words to say to someone who is feeling down and definitely alone...or to someone you love just because:)

This is THE FIXX best song ever. They were on the perfect line of creativity. I'm only saying this is also their best album "walkabout" ... agree? Peace for all
