Horon is derived from the Greek word Horos which means dance. The Pontians, who are relatives of Ancient Greeks, who speak an Anciet Greek Dialect, they still speak their language... lived on the Black Sea Coast. Until they were massacred/slaughtered and ethnically cleansed my Kemal and the Savage Turks...Those who survived fled to Greece or were forced to convert to Islam and assume a Turkish name...Go read a history book.............

This is a 90-sec clip of a 2-hour show, and the actual show displays many dances known in *Anatolia* throughout the centuries. In other words, displaying Horon, Greek, Ponthian and other dance elements as Anatolian makes sense if historical perspective is considered. These are integrated artistically to create the entire show. As with any artistic creation, everyone does not have to like it. Having seen the real show, I happen to think that it is a very respectful effort and great entertainment.

I admire Anatolian/Turkish dances, however, these ones aren't genuine, this is a choreographical synthesis of different things, starting with Laz/Ponthian Greek/Turkish Horon and ending up with some synthetic moves without any clear background. Something to be gobbled by a Western audience.
