When asked recently for the most memorable moment of his career, Phil Everly replied "the Albert Hall reunion". It was September 1983, and ten years on from one of the most acrimonious splits in popular music history, when the Everly Brothers, Don and Phil, took to the stage at London's Royal Albert Hall. One of the most successful duos of all time, the Everlys had dominated the charts in the late fifties and early to mid sixties. Their close harmony singing, acoustic guitars and brilliant songwriting had become instantly recognisable and inspired millions of fans worldwide. On an emotional night in London, the reunion was an unqualified success and led to the renewal of their partnership on an ongoing basis and many more years of success, which continue to this day

Just a note on the drums and the Everlys, while it is true they seldom used drums in the studio, they very frequently used a drummer when performing live as in this reunion concert. It is reported that they were the first act to use drums on the Grand Ole Oprey in 1963.

Great post! Kudos to Albert Lee for making it happen and Dave Edmunds for putting together thier come back album released in 1984, entitled EB84 in the usually clever style of Edmunds' work.

Nice to see them jamming with pleasure, but only a critic : the song of the drumming isn't enhancing the song . Anyway, I ever though Everlys songs didn 't need drum at all .One of the few that where able to achieve a strong rythmn with their guitats only !!

This hit by The Everly Brothers was the flip side on their #1 song, All I Have to Do Is Dream. Dream was the 40th #1 song of the Rock Era in the United Kingdom.
