Hi xrayman149, Nice to hear from someone who knew them when they were in the Marine's. Phil has always said such great things about the Marine days. What I wouldn't give to hear them live one more time. I have some wonderful memories of some outstanding concerts over the years. It's hard to imagine how their voices sounded so great right up & including that last concert. In my opinion there will never be another duo like the Everly's & Phil can still do those high harmony's even at 72!!!

@norskygirl You really said it. The Everly Brothers can sing anything and own the song. I was a Marine when they were going through boot camp and they were in the reserves, and the scuttlebut (rumors) was that they had to literally fight the women off. It's amazing that they both married when they were so sought after by the ladies. But in a concert they performed at the Marine Recruit Depot in San Diego in 1965, I heard them profess their love for God and they sang a nice Christian hymn.
