When I was a young Cure fanatic, I purchased all of this band's albums because the record store where I discovered them had them filed under "The Cure"; the shop owner told me that they were essentially The Cure in disguise. I actually believed it for several years until the internet enlightened me with the truth, lol. Yep, I also heard of "The Essence" from a radio DJ "Coyote J" that ran an alternative show (The Edge) in the South USA (based mostly in Alabama markets)... He persuaded me to buy a few of their rare cds because the label was going bankrupt. I wish I had taped every one of his shows, because some of that music will never be heard again (it was so rare).

I am also from the US, and I listened to this (and other great "import" music) on The Edge, a radio show out of B'ham, Alabama during the early 90s. I could never forget The Essence or that crazy show host, Coyote J. You just gotta love this good stuff! In Coyote's own words, "make sure it's modern music, and make sure it's good..."
