The Easybeats - Friday On My Mind:

Lyrics: George Young/Harry Vanda

Monday morning feels so bad

Everybody seems to nag me

Coming tuesday I feel better

Even my old man looks good

Wednesday just won't go

Thursday goes too slow

I've got Friday on my mind

Gonna have fun in the city

Be with my girl, she's so pretty

She looks fine tonight

She is outa' sight to me

Tonight, I'll paint it red

Tonight, I'll lose my head

Tonight, I've got to get tonight

Monday I have Friday on my mind

Do the five day drag once more

No one, nothing else that bugs me

Now I'm working for the rich man

But I'll change his tune one day

Tonight I'll get mad

Tomorrow I'll be glad

'Cause I've got Friday on my mind

Gonna have fun in the city

Be with my girl she's so pretty

She looks fine tonight

She is outa' sight to me

Tonight, I'll paint it red

Tonight, I'll lose my head

Tonight, I've got to get tonight

Monday I have Friday on my mind

Gonna have fun in the city

Be with my girl she's so pretty

Gonna have fun in the city

Be with my girl she's so pretty

Gonna have fun in the city

Be with my girl she's so pretty

1967...electric guitars with no cords and no speakers on the stage? How stupid were we to think they were actually singing and playing instruments?

Handsome Man !*Best dancing ever.* Wright has had problems with alcohol and drug addictions.By 1976 he was hospitalised and undertook methadone treatment. In the late 1970s he was treated at Chelmsford Private Hospital by Dr Harry Bailey who administered Deep Sleep Therapy with a combination of drug-induced coma and electroshock..The Easybeats, with Stevie Wright as a member, were inducted into the *Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA)* Hall of Fame alongside Renée Geyer, Hunters & Collectors, Smoky Dawson, Split Enz and Normie Rowe

Stevie Wright, another R&R tragedy. It seems today he is suffering from something called Korsafoff's syndrome, AKA wet brain. Apparently when he stopped using heroin he turned to extremely heavy alcohol abuse. It's amazing that after so many years of substance abuse he is still alive although today he suffers from some very serious medical issues. I always like Stevie, he seemed to be a likeable, fun person and it doesn't seem as though he ever harmed anyone but himself. I lived through the era (late '60s, early '70s) of the dead rock stars due to substance abuse and how Stevie survived when so many others didn't is a mystery to me. Stevie always performed atb a high level and entertained many people over the years so we should thank him for that.

Amazing old tune. Stands the test of time remarkably well and brings back memories of good times.

Sounds kinda like a Lovin Spoonful song to me.

He dances like a combo of Joe Cocker and Freddie Garrity from Freddy and the Dreamers. Lots of fun watching this!

First time I've seen this video of EasyBeats without a crowd around them. Never knew George Young played the 12 string , but , sure enough, it's in there.Great tune. Still gets me positive every time I hear it.
