Sometimes the Irish get peeved when USAians call themselves Irish. Those of us who are older come from a time when people said "I'm Irish," or "I'm Italian," and that's because their parents or grandparents came over to the US from the old country. It's just how people defined themselves, and it was said with pride and loyalty. That's not so much the way things are now, but when USAians refer to themselves as Irish, please remember it's said because of their love for Ireland. We may see it with rose colored glasses, but it's still a beautiful place and some of us will never forget our roots.

Ireland had plenty of it's own royalty. The English crown has done you no favours as an Irishman, I just don't see the appeal. Ruling the land because you're born into a certain family, spending your life in the lap of luxury while homelessness and unemployment rises and the country goes to shit... seems fair, right?

The reason I come back is usually because someone replies to me. The last comment I left was 3 months ago, and here I am again, discoursing with some eijit on YouTube, but I digress. There's nothing wrong with being English just as there's equally nothing wrong with being Irish. I was born English but my ancestry is Irish. I'm proud of both. In God's eyes it doesn't matter and Jesus himself doesn't judge just because of your blood. HE will judge purely based on the life you've lived. Shame on those filled with hate. Irish for the Irish. There are people from all nations over the world, and it counts for nothing. If you weren't born here, you can't claim to be Irish. I'm not having a go at people claiming Irish heritage, but any fucker who was born in the states, or elsewhere, IS NOT IRISH AND CAN FUCK OFF FROM CLAIMING THEY ARE. My American cousins, born of an Irish uncle, are AMERICAN. They can't claim a passport with Eire on the front, so they aren't fucking Irish. End of story.
