Please, Please, Please

(Let Me Get What I Want)

(Words and Music by Johnny Marr & Morrissey)

Good times for a change.

See, the luck I've had

Can make a good man

Turn bad

So please, please, please

Let me, let me, let me

Let me get what I want

This time

Haven't had a dream in a long time

See, the life I've had

Can make a good man bad

So for once in my life

Let me get what I want

Lord knows, it would be the first time

Lord knows, it would be the first time

I still like the instrumental version of this version of this song, BUT - instrumental or not, this still beats the hell out of Morrissey's original! :DThe Dream Academy was just so good...I always thought of them as being gentle, quiet, wise people, possibly living in those Northern Towns they sang of, seeing the world through the young eyes of old souls and translating what they saw into music.I loved them, and I still do.

Just so great. The harmonies after the 2minute mark make me wonder how Morrissey might have sounded with some female harmonies.

This song was first heard by the public sang by "The Smiths" and Morrisey sang it Far better than them.No offense but to be fair to them they are good but Morrisey innovated that song properly.

If you actually watch the ending credits of this video, it says, "Kate St. John; vocals, oboe, French Horn." That's incorrect. She does vocals, oboe, and plays English horn, not French horn. A French Horn (which is a brass instrument) looks more like a hunting horn. An English horn looks like an overgrown oboe.

That synthesizer is an E-mu Emulator II. Same one Ferris Bueller used to create the sound effects of being sick while on the phone with his friends.
