those of you wanting the poetry with NO music, check Archive dot org and it's call The Lost Paris Tapes by Jim Morrison. GREAT stuff. I love American Prayer too but the poetry raw in the order and complete, you'll hear the difference.

People say that american prayer was a move from the Doors to milk the Jim Morrison cow after he died, but some songs like these, work really well with his poetry. I don't know what to think because I can understand both sides of the coin, but in the end, isn't passing on the word of Jim, even if it isn't perfected, more important?

Indian, Indian what did you die for? Indian says, nothing at all.

Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding, ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind. Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice blood in my love in the terrible summer bloody red sun of Phantastic L.A. Blood screams her brain as they chop off her fingers blood will be born in the birth of a nation blood is the rose of mysterious union blood on the rise, it's following me..

@jgirard10 Although I was commenting on this particular vid, I know that what I stated still stands, even when referring to his other work. Most of his music, when lyrically analysed, could stand alone as 'poetry'. The problem is still ever present; just as in the 60's, our culture is not intellectually competent to derive meaning from artistic expressions. Same reason people are not able to read shakespeare, same reason people needed to have a 'musical' format in order to HEAR morrison.

@MYTHIRDSHADOW You're right. After he died they interviewed his sister and they talked on the phone one time.He told her he was an entertainer but he didn't actually want to do that.He wanted to recite his poems but "they wouldn't listen."

@MYTHIRDSHADOW The music wasn't added until after he died
