The music critics were not kind to the post-Morrison Doors line-up, especially to Ray Manzarek's vocals. It was inevitable that none of them had the charisma or vocal talent as Jim. However, if you stop comparing him to Jim and just judge them on their own merits, he isn't really such a bad singer at all.

Freaking love Ray! Doors are so badass and can write great records without Jim but they are complete in their sound with him. Without him they're a 10/10 but with Jim, they become a 20/10.

I liked Morrison's voice and his lyrics, but I also like this post Morrison Doors too. Ray's voice sounds less depressing, and the music sounds happier with more energy.

RIP Ray. Your vocals while obviously different from Jim's were great on these 2 post-Morrison albums. I still have them in my rotation and enjoy the hell out of them! Enjoy being a "wanderin musician" up there with jimbo!

mm one of the best bands in the history of rock n roll imo. 6-7 awesome albums and countless tours under a period of 4-5y. (no im not gonna wiki the fact, u do that). Its just to bad Ray is and was to full of himself to let someone else take over the lead after Jim. I mean it couldnt been worse than this..
