I've watched TONS of Donnas youtubes - they don't suck like this usually. It's the sound man. I've been in lots of bands, if you can't hear yourself, you can't SING in the presence of a blaring Marshall. But, the singer, Brett, is into it here - it's actually more passionate than she often is.

you're totally right. most bands and even worse singers can't play or sing, but they still make music and make it sounds nice in the studio, so they have to use playback. airbourne is one of the few new bands that still make good rock

Thanks! I am with you! The Donnas are not crisp or pre fab rock bt they do rock and they do sound great live considering all the technology bands use nowadays. I'd rather hear a band like theirs than some pre-fab bullshit guy band pretending the are live.

It's not studio, the guitarist just has a certain tone that carries along with her. She uses a Line 6 distortion and Marshall. That's pretty much what sound u get from both. As far as it being a studio like sound, it's a post-mix that is usually done after the show. Compressors and shit like that to clean up the sound.

The recording has two guitar tracks. On this version there is only one. It's easiest to hear the difference during and after the solo. Hope that helps clear it up. Sign of a good band, I guess, if they can play like the recording :)

not really. it's mostly just the sound. the intro part of the drums sound live but most of the rest sound studio. the bass and the guitar sound studio. especialy the guitar. looks like the may have messed up with her hands a bit in the solo but can't say for sure...i could be wrong about all this shit, it just sounds studio to me
