Great stuff Neil! Given this songs connection with Father Ted (It of course, being the theme song) I think they should have had a montage of Father Ted playing on the screens in the background. Still, great performace though

I loved the Father Ted theme but with words it's even better

I feel so ashamed, I never knew this song wasn't originally by Ben Folds!

Never realised it had lyrics, I wish someone would do the church organ version they sometimes had as background music in the show itself during scenes, if there was one song that was appropriate done with a church organ it was this one.

Neil is actually a Genius in the truest sense of the word. (like Cathal Coughlan) ...must be a fucking Oirish thing :)Both have never had the true credit that they very much deserved. What the fuck is wrong with the World when People who create original works of Art go (relatively) unrecognised, whilst bland derivative, overtly money making ventures flourish and are lapped up by the Majority. (sigh)

"pale pubescent beasts, roam through the streets and coffee shops, their prey gathered in herds of stiff knee length skirts and white ankle socks, but while they search for a mate my type hibernate in bedrooms above... composing their songs of love." ah he sings a song about the hopeless story of my life! Love Neil Hannon :-)

Wow. That is a really, really good song. I love Father Ted, and I love Neil's songs, but I wasn't expecting much for some reason. Wow.

My old band used to cover this, all Father Ted fans, but It simply is a beautiful song, Neil Hannon is not recognized for the exceptional song writing talent He is.
