basically we're agreeing here. all these words and categorisations are very limited and pretty unhelpful and often made less clear by the associations we put on words. so if i described a piece of music as simple that comes with undue negative connotations etc. i still don't think radiohead is pop tho... ;)

well my favourite definition, although no doubt it's not one many people are familiar with and it's not rock solid IE there is no line between one and the other, is that there are degrees of complexity in music, and at one end is simpler music IE pop and at the other end is less simple music IE art music. i like this vague spectrum and i should make clear that in my mind one is not ''better'' than the other. lots of the stuff radiohead put out is very complex in a variety of ways, so art music
