The Defonics - La-La (Means I Love You) (1968)
The Delfonics remains one of the pioneering male R&B groups to help define the Philly soul sound. Their big break came when they recorded "La-La (Means I Love You" for Stan Watson's Philly Groove record label. Songwriter/producer Thom Bell handled the session- along with a number of Delfonics' big hits including "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)," "Hey Love," and "Ready or Not Here I Come." "La-La (Means I Love You)" was a million seller; peaking at #2 r&b and #4 pop.
Produced by Thom Bell.
