Song # 2819 was essentially a staple of the early days of sixties AM radio when Cousin Brucey played his share of oldies on Saturday night. One of his often spun favorites was this golden oldie from the year 1957. The 45 was also in Johnny Goldstein's superb oldie record collection in 1961 as I vaguely recall it from the Camp Farrington socials. This was one of the fast dance numbers, or boogie numbers. I never did learn how to make that twisting motion so that the girl I was dancing with would spin around. In 1961 my girl of choice was Marcia Kurtz, who unfortunately passed far too early in life. Marcia was a nice looking blonde who must have liked skinny boys with glasses. So she was usually my partner. But I could never ever get that spin move down, even with the early doo-wop sound of the Del-Vikings with "Come Go With Me" at # 2819.

Amen!!! It is totally true!!! In the late 90's people always bitched about the music, but now people are like "I wish I lived back then!" Seriously? Same with the 80's. I loved the late 80's/early 90's, but it had plenty of bad and good music just like today, no better or worse. :)
