@banditbronable I never liked Mclaren, or any of his ideas. However, he did leave a large footprint in the 70's when punk began. Like it or loath it, he did market the genre as a whole, but the true talent shone though in the end, with bands such as The Damned (of course), The Stranglers (my fave), and The Clash, and a multitude of others. The point is, whilst he was lining his pockets ripping off The Pistols, he inadvertantly made other bands money.13 years ago

@salvadory Actually I could never understand ppl who admire Clash! 1, probably, ought to be british to get some subtil edetails and hints of their lyrics. But.... The biggest difference b'tween Clash and Damned is the latter doesn't have ANY musically borin' song. Agree?14 years ago

@psychodamned i love the damned but the clash matched them stride for stride- in the end its a toss up for me -! However this is one of my favorite damned songs atleast from this period14 years ago
