it sounds very british to me... sorry, I don't want to make this argument any longer, but that's what I hear

you're wrong - the 'sex pistol-ish' voice was whiny and nasal. Dave sounded nothing like that, his voice was a high-baritone bark.

I'll agree with that, true Punk!

Damned, Damned, Damned, is without a doubt the best album the Damned ever released and is one of the greatest punk albums ever released. It goes toe to toe with Never Mind the Bollocks.

Dave Vanian had one of the least 'British punky accents' of all the British punk singers.

the original is so so so so much better... that britsh punky accent sucks, but that's personal. Good cover, though

what a shame, no more bands can do anything like this nowadays?

I don't care who covered it or did it first...I feel alright

There's no improving on the original--or, rather, the King Biscuit live version of it--but this cover is worthwhile (I'm ambivalent about Turbonegro's).

The Damned were way ahead of their time. I know--I remember 1977 well enough, even though I was little, and where I was at it was still about disco, bell bottoms, and bad hair (save for Afros, of course). Would that I could have heard this righteousness in preschool!

one of the best cover versions ever! iggys version would be awsome if he wasnt so fucked out of his head every time he sung this in the early 70,s but maybe thats why iggys version is the best?
