Man, I agree with you, but for the record Astbury didn't write this song. It was originally wrote for Aerosmith to play for the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, but The Cult got it for whatever reason, but yeah. Artists can do whatever they want in a live performance. That's why it's art. There shouldn't be limitations.

Seeing as how he wrote the fucking song, as an artist, he has the right to perform it live anyway he fucking chooses. Musicians, especially singers,DO NOT sound the same at every single live gig. Get over it.....Sounds fine Ian! Rock on bro! Anyone who has followed this band and ever seen them live, knows that Astbury is ALWAYS adding lyrics that are'nt on the studio version of the song.
