Yes, it's a great song but if you put it in context of when it was released, it sounds derivative of most other songs. The wall of sound was becoming formulaic. The music industry is always looking for a new sound. This song and production are great but too similar to many songs that came before. It's lack of chart success is more a question of timing than quality. The public was tiring of the castanettes and rolling drum figures and Spector was one of the last to recognize that the public passed him by. 10 years ago

This production is quite different to 'I Wonder' where, immediately after the spoken intro you run right smack into that Wall of Sound!13 years ago
