I say no to that, the group is a bad group, like any group of those golden age of music, has excellent productions, but particularly, do not like that version.

sincerely, not as good, much better than those, the version of "The Hollies", has a harder sound, and the battery is more pronounced, and of course, much better sung, with more force.

The Cryan Shames really brought this song to the charts. Sorry Mr. Harrison.

Sorry Beatles, I love you to death, but I think the Shames outdid you on this song!

Since the song had not been released yet in the U.S. there was no mechanical license that they could aquire. The artist (The Beatles) refused to let them purchase the license from them in the U.K.

All the Cryan Shames needed to do was record the song and pay the mechanical license. No permission was needed to record it. How do you think all the British groups did covers of American recording artists? They paid the mechanical licenses.

The story I heard about this song is the Beatles recorded it and released it in England but it had not bee nreleased in the US yet but the Cryan' Shames heard it and wanted to record it and release it in the US before the Beatles did. They could not get permission to do so.

Why not display a photo of Ed Bolin who had to leave the group to get into the air force? He should also be acknowledged. How do I know Edward Bolin was an original? I am his first daughter. I need another ORIGINAL Cryin Shames member to contact me again so I can send some photos of dad this time. PS I have something to share with band members only...yes, it is a song my dad wrote. I know dad would want the band to perform the 2 songs dad wrote.

@73849309378 The Beatles had written and recorded it but it had not been released in the US. The band heard it and wanted to record it and release it but the Beatles said no and released it instead.

@MikeMeldan Yes that IS the Cryan Shames. There is a British band around the same time called the Cryin Shames and there was a legal battle back then.

@rons0916 Lenny lives in California as well as Toad. Toad comes to Chicago and sings with the band when he can. James Fairs moved to Florida but recently moved back to Chicago and has a new band he is working on.

@jlbaker2000 Hooke has a deformed hand from birth. He wore a cast iron hook on it to cover it up. Thehook is now on the wall at the Rock and Roll Cafe in Chicago.
