The Crocodiles evolved from the group Spats, releasing their first album Tears in 1980, which included the top 20 hit of the same name. Managed by one-time member of Split Enz, Mike Chunn, the pop band underwent numerous line-up changes in its short lifespan. At various times it included several members who went on to become household names, such as singer Jenny Morris and drummer and acting legend Bruno Lawrence, who was replaced by Ian Gilroy (The Swingers). The band called it a day in 1981.

Yes the theatrics in the video clip are hardly cool nowadays and the lip Botox is a bit overdone, but what a great song!

Awesome song, great bassline and piano and off course voice by Jenny. Having Bruno there just puts the cherry on top :)

Amazing performance by Jenny Morris. She has soul in this song. Nothing else she did afterwards really comes close to this performance.

@cmikex2. The baass player is Tina Matthews. After the band broke up in 1981, she went back to her puppet making career. She moved to Australia in 1982 where she worked with master puppet makers Ross Hill, Beverley Jackson and Peter Chester. She worked on Jim Henson's movie 'Labyrinth', starring David Bowie. and with Garth Frost on the ABC TV program 'The Ferals'. She also made puppets for the show 'Bananas in Pyjamas'.

In 1980 this group came to my school (Kelston Boys High) and sung a mini concert. This is the only song I remember from them.
