Happy Birthday Jerry Ivan Allison (born August 31, 1939.)I believe that this was the only single that he sang on, having released it under his middle name, Ivan.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #rocknroll #jerryallison #drummer #songwriter #thecrickets #buddyholly #bornonthisday #bornonthisdate

The greatest white drummer of the original rock-n-roll era, and my favorite version of this song. I would kill to see Jerry sing a duet of this song with Iggy Pop.

Its Jerry Ivan Allison, Not (Jerry Ivan Alison) in your title. Just saying. His childhood home is now open at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, TX. This is the home where they wrote "That'll Be The Day" and " Peggy Sue" The ribbon cutting was Sept 6, 2013 by J.I. Allison, Joe B. Mauldin and Sonny Curtis was there too.

Both Joe and Jerry are still highly influential on their playing. Joe's simple, no frills upright bass lines prove that upright bass can be an useful instrument not only limited to cliché-ridden rockabilly, but also serious rock-pop stuff. Same goes for Jerry's rhythms, they were ahead of its time and still sound powerful and fresh

The Crickets are great. Age doesn't even matter, this is essentially the same group of guys that've been there since the 50s, they all knew Buddy, and do justice to the music. And it's nice to see Ivan give a live performance.
