1. The Beatles were not a strictly pop band, they made a lot of pure RnR songs. There is an album called The RnR Collection with ~30 great songs. 2. No more relative than any other human opinion. For the sake of the argument, I would assert that music that requires talent (you wouldnt argue that Tchaikovsky or Mozart were not incredibly talented in very indisputable way?), hard work and expresses individuality/rebellion is objectively better than music that doesnt. Pop tends to be the second.

I'm actually positive that I'm not wrong. Music is just vibrations. Certain vibrations will be preferential to people depending on their genetics. We have built up a cult around the concept of sound and have forgotten how absurd it is that we even watch and listen to people making vibrations with metals and electricity and mouth noises which we have placed meaning around but have no inherent meaning at all.

Well, I appreciate that. I guess I just fear falling into elitism and saying I'm better than anyone else for listening to certain music, but I can understand where you're coming from. It's really just the people that go around saying, "Kill all the pop artists...rock n' roll is going to take over again!" You know? It's just a little strange.
