Waiting for a thousand years

Sailing on a thousand tears

Seasons in your mind

Colours they change

With the passing of time

You'll find your way

You'll find your way...

Oooh...

Waiting for a thousand years

Sailing on a thousand tears

Signs set in stone

Follow the river

Wherever she flows

You'll find your way

You'll find your way...

A new day has begun

Now that you're standing

In the warmth of the sun

You'll find your way

You'll find your way...

I just love this tune. There is some magic in the air, a sort of sea breeze through which we sail for 1000 years!

Byrds, Electric Prunes, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, Amboy Dukes and garage band psych all come to mind. Agree with the nod to America also. Great tune! Glad I stumbled upon it. Will need to investigate these folks further.

Well, first of all, Aleister Crowley is NOT a satanist, it is a wrong image associated to him. He is an important occultist ( not a satanist, it is different) who wrote books not about satan or devil, but how to defeat the 'satan' (adversary) inside of each one of us. Crowley influenced many important musicians. The Coral are into Magic and Occultism, but that's not a bad thing, it is really the opposite, they are just following their "True Will"... :D

This song reminds me on The Byrds and Roger McGean.

I agree with the America comparison. Sounds like the Ventura Highway chorus. Great song and great band.

@dfstarborn Cheers, I'll look up that John Todd. I am a massive fan of Jim Morrison too by the way. I know he was interested in shamanism, and I have read loads of stuff about shamanism. Did you know Jim loved Frank Sinatra too? Before the comments here I never copped on that The Coral were in to all this stuff, gonna try find out more about their interest in it.

@dfstarborn ARTROCKER: Were you ever tempted to explore the voodoo side of the 1960s, like shamanism, devil worship, and all that spiritual stuff? JAMES SKELLY: We always did, yeah! I think we started off like that - you’ve always got to have the magic. There’s not enough magic in music – it’s all science, isn’t it?

@dfstarborn It is kind of obvious that these guys are into something(or maybe force?), if you pay attention to their lyrics (norofic mention to Nightfreak and the sons of becker) and videos, they are freaking creepy lol. It kind of bugs me but I love their music so I tend to not think too much about it :)

Sounds like Saggitarius if not the L.A. Goodbye-era Ides of March. Interesting turn.
