Je moet hieronder de Nederlandse reacties eens afzetten tegen die uit het buitenland. Dan valt er één ding op: die uit het buitenland zijn unaniem lovend, terwijl de Nederlandse bijna zonder uitzondering negatief zijn. Mooi bewijs dat de gemiddelde Nederlander geen jota verstand heeft van de muzikale voorkeur buiten onze landsgrenzen, en dat het dus maar goed is dat het Nationaal Songfestival af is geschaft, en de keuze de laatste jaren gemaakt wordt door vakmensen. Met als resultaat dat we, van de 4 keer dat dat gebeurd is, 3 keer de finale hebben gehaald, tegen 1 van de 10 keren sinds de invoering van het systeem met halve finales en een finale op het ESF, dat het Nederlandse publiek de inzending bepaalde. Nuff said.
